[00:00:00] [Music]
[00:00:00] welcome to this premiere pro tutorial on
[00:00:00] how to make the most of this series i am
[00:00:00] luisa winters i am a musician editor
[00:00:00] pilot and business owner i am also a
[00:00:00] teacher i have been working and teaching
[00:00:00] adobe products for well over two decades
[00:00:00] and cannot imagine doing my work without
[00:00:00] the creative cloud toolset
[00:00:00] in this series we will use files that
[00:00:00] you can download please follow the link
[00:00:00] on the description to download these
[00:00:00] files and save them locally in your
[00:00:00] system i saved mine on my desktop
[00:00:00] once you download the files and look at
[00:00:00] them you will notice that there are
[00:00:00] folders and files inside of this
[00:00:00] location
[00:00:00] these files are premiere pro projects
[00:00:00] that refer to these other files here
[00:00:00] inside of the footage folder
[00:00:00] we will use the same assignment which is
[00:00:00] a coffee shop advertisement throughout
[00:00:00] the entire series
[00:00:00] but we are providing an updated version
[00:00:00] of the premiere pro project file for
[00:00:00] each tutorial
[00:00:00] you can choose to either keep on working
[00:00:00] on the original premiere pro project
[00:00:00] throughout the series or just jump in at
[00:00:00] any point and start following along
[00:00:00] using the project file for that specific
[00:00:00] tutorial
[00:00:00] let's open the footage folder and see
[00:00:00] what's in there
[00:00:00] once you double-click it you see that
[00:00:00] there are three more folders in here one
[00:00:00] for audio one for graphics and one for
[00:00:00] video we will be referring to these
[00:00:00] assets as we go throughout this training
[00:00:00] next i want to say that the files that
[00:00:00] we are using for you to go through the
[00:00:00] training are to be used only for your
[00:00:00] learning purposes and not for anything
[00:00:00] else
[00:00:00] i would also like to mention that i may
[00:00:00] be working with a different screen
[00:00:00] resolution than you and that's because
[00:00:00] i'm recording the screen so our screens
[00:00:00] may not look exactly the same but they
[00:00:00] should be similar enough for you to
[00:00:00] easily follow the training
[00:00:00] in this series we assume that you're
[00:00:00] familiar with your computer system and
[00:00:00] that you're comfortable with it
[00:00:00] also i am using and recording on a
[00:00:00] windows system but you may be using a
[00:00:00] mac this is not a problem i will mention
[00:00:00] any kind of differences between the two
[00:00:00] as i go through the topics and will give
[00:00:00] you keyboard shortcuts and menu
[00:00:00] locations in both windows and mac
[00:00:00] if i don't mention the differences
[00:00:00] between windows and mac and any
[00:00:00] particular keyboard shortcut or menu
[00:00:00] location it's because it's the same no
[00:00:00] matter which system you're using
[00:00:00] what will we cover in this series
[00:00:00] this series was designed with
[00:00:00] certification in mind
[00:00:00] meaning that in addition to covering the
[00:00:00] basics of using premiere pro
[00:00:00] we will touch on many of the essential
[00:00:00] skills workflows and concepts that you
[00:00:00] must know to pass the adobe certified
[00:00:00] professional exam
[00:00:00] a video later in the series will go into
[00:00:00] more detail about how to prepare for and
[00:00:00] take the exam
[00:00:00] i must add that if you go through all of
[00:00:00] the aspects of this training you will be
[00:00:00] equipped to pass the exam but you need
[00:00:00] time with premiere pro this
[00:00:00] certification requires 150 hours of
[00:00:00] premiere pro experience
[00:00:00] so this is not your magic bullet but it
[00:00:00] sets the foundation of helping you to
[00:00:00] get certified okay let's get started
